As local entrepreneurs who grew up in Dover and still call it home, the Roman family had long envisioned a state-of-the-art laundromat that would serve the people of Dover, NJ and Morris County, NJ with a cleaner, more modern, and more welcoming place to do laundry.

Dora’s Laundromat was named after their mother. As the family puts it, “We named it Dora’s because that is our mother’s name, and what better name than your mother’s.” That personal connection is part of what makes the business feel deeply rooted in family, pride, and community.

The Roman family were also the previous owners of Latino American Supermarket, a longtime Dover business that has served the community since 1956 near the Dover Train Station at 11 Essex St S, Dover, NJ 07801. While they are no longer involved in day-to-day operations, the business continues to serve the community today.

More than just a laundromat, Dora’s was created as a local investment in the community — a place where customers can enjoy a quality experience, take pride in where they do their laundry, and feel good about supporting a business built by Dover residents for Dover residents.
